System - RAMS Engineer

Your mission
Here at the The Exploration Company we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refueled in orbit, and which carries cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
We want you as a talented RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) Engineer to help us in our mission by being responsible of all RAMS activities, such as the Safety and LOS submissions for all missions, and the analysis of the design for reliability, availability, and maintainability, in particular to target re-usability of the Nyx vehicles, with manned spaceflight challenges in mind.

Tasks:
In your capacity as RAMS Engineer, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:
  • To perform and maintain the FMECA (Failure Modes Effect and Criticality Analysis), generate, follow-up and close the associated Technical Recommendation and RAMS requirements, and write and close the Hazard Reports.
  • To perform and maintain the Reliability prediction analysis and budget, flowing down and closing the failure rates allocations to the Sub-systems and Equipements.
  • To perform trade-offs and redundancy optimisation studies in coordination with each Sub-System leads.
  • To drive the FDIR definition, organising co-engineering mode with the flight hardware and software teams, performing HSIA (Hardware/Software Interaction Analysis), defining, maintaining and closing the FIDR requirements and specifications.
  • To perform and maintain the Availability analysis and budget.
  • To drive hands-on the Maintainability concept and processes, with a complete life cycle analysis and the generation of recommendations for Fleet size, re-furbishment concepts (e.g. equipments, spare, level of repair, lead time), MAIT capabilities, recurring costs model, etc…
  • To perform all Safety activities, such as the Safety assessments, production of Hazardous Item Lists, Product Liability process support, Safety Submission towards the launch provider and authorities, LOS Submission.
  • To support the monitoring and control of equipment, subsystem and flight software (including with subcontractors when applicable) for RAMS aspects.
What we would love to see from you
In the role of RAMS Engineer ideally, you will have the following:
  • Advanced degree (Master of Science or PhD) in Engineering, aerospace engineering, or another related field; specialisation in electronics is a plus.
  • A first experience (1 to 2 years) working in RAMS engineering and / or aerospace system engineering
  • Good knowledge in programming (Python, Fortran, Matlab...)
  • Fluent in English. German and French is an asset
